PSWA Member Julie Adams awarded Medal of the Order of Australia (OAM)

Congratulations to PSWA Member Julie Adams who has recently been awarded the Medal of the Order of Australia (OAM) in the General Division “For service to pharmaceutical oncology”.

Julie is a co-founder and director of View Health and chemo@home. Julie has worked in the area of oncology and haematology for the past 25 years, in a number of hospitals (both public and private) in WA.  In 2000, she was successful in obtaining a grant from the Health Department of WA to establish the Home Cancer Care Service, which enabled oncology and haematology patients from Royal Perth, Sir Charles Gairdner and Fremantle Hospitals to receive their chemotherapy and supportive care therapy at home. chemo@home has grown to become Australia’s leading provider of home-based infusion services. They are trusted by over 1,400 specialist doctor’s across the country to administer cancer therapies and infusions for medical conditions safely, where and when it’s convenient for patients.

In 2020, Julie was awarded PSWA’s Eric Kirk Memorial Award, the Society’s most prestigious recognition of members who have made an outstanding contribution to the development of professional practice.
