For PHARMACISTS Currently Registered Elsewhere in AustraliaMutual Recognition legislation entitles a person registered to practise in another Australian State or Territory to registration in an equivalent occupation in Western Australia. Applicants must lodge forms of application for registration which include an original passport- sized photograph; certified, clear photographic evidence of identification (e.g. passport, drivers licence); certified copy of proof of current registration to practise in another Australian State or Territory; and the appropriate fee. Acknowledgement of receipt of your notice advising you of your deemed registration will be sent promptly. For (a) restoration of name to the Register and (b) movement from "non-practising" to "practising"The Pharmacy Act 1964 provides that a pharmaceutical chemist may practise pharmacy only under authority of a licence, issued by the Council, to do so. Registration does not of itself authorise a pharmacist to practise in Western Australia. Any pharmacist wishing to practise must first obtain a licence to do so. Applicants must lodge forms of application for registration/licence to practise which include an original passport-sized photograph; certified, clear photographic evidence of identification (e.g. passport, drivers licence); and the appropriate fee. If the person has been registered overseas a certificate of good standing from the registering authority in every country in which that person has been registered is required. Applicants should be aware that licences may be issued only by the Council and that the Council is required to meet only on the first Tuesday of every month except January. Licenses must be renewed annually by application.
